TorbayHour, talking and tweeting business.
To a few, some may say haven’t you been affected by the dawn of the #TorbayHour hash-tag why are you promoting them on your blog?
We can answer that quite openly. Â BoostTorbay has been on twitter since 2012, and will be around for the foreseeable future.
We have a strong following which is growing and more importantly there are a few tricks up our sleeves to put the cat amongst the pigeons as it were.
TorbayHour started almost 12 months ago.
Boost Torbay was already in the process of organising a TorbayHour hash-tag bringing the bay into line with the likes of many of the other hours around the UK.
However, purely down to time and our focus on the Torbay Discount Card we simply abandoned the project.
In fact right up until we met the founder of TorbayHour, James Twigger, we owned @TorbayHour on twitter, which we subsequently donated to the founder.
We like what the local hour has done for Torbay, we ourselves have met a lot of people through their tweet ups, and through getting involved in the #TorbayHour on a Monday between 8-9pm.
The TorbayHour Radio Show
The work that these individuals do, should not go unnoticed and when we think where they were 12 months ago, they have come along way.
One of our products is regularly promoted on the TorbayHour Radio Show, the Torbay Discount Card.
TorbayHour have also launched challenge, via the video social network, Vine, called the 6 second challenge, essentially videoing yourselves promoting your business in 6 seconds.
How we use the hour
The hour has helped a lot of businesses connect to each other and equally has helped the community connect to businesses. We use #TorbayHour to get the message out about new products/services.
We would recommend that people do get involved in these hours, not so much to pick up business but more to get your brand noticed.
