As from 15th July Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust (TCCT) will implement new charges for parking at all of its sites across Torbay. Parking at sites including Cockington Country Park and Berry Head NNR will increase to 50p for a 20 minute stay (£1.50 per hour / £6 for 4 hours and over).

The change is long overdue as parking charges have not increased in over 3 years. We had planned to introduce these new charges 1st April this year but postponed implementation due to COVID19.

TCCT is a charity, the income raised from car parking charges supports our work in caring and maintaining Torbay’s most precious green spaces. This includes keeping footpaths open for all, looking after the stunning gardens and parkland at Cockington, safeguarding the National Nature Reserve at Berry Head and caring for many other special places and spaces across Torbay. Every penny you pay to park helps the Trust to care for and safeguard Torbay’s natural heritage.

Damian Offer, Chief Executive, Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust said:

“We have not implemented an increase in car parking charges at our sites for three years. Whilst the decision to update our charging structure was made in advance of COVID-19, we are mindful that the planned changes are now even more necessary to help the charity recover from the impact of the global pandemic. Our prices for membership and parking passes have not increased. If you are a regular at any of our sites please consider joining the Trust.”

TCCT operates a membership initiative for those that wish to support its work. The purchase of an annual £25 membership gives you the option to buy a TCCT Parking and Benefits Pass for £12.50, which  offers free parking at all TCCT car parks and other benefits. There’s more information about the TCCT membership scheme on their website: www.countryside-trust.org.uk/support-us/members
