There have been many times that we’ve heard the saying “get on your bike”, well Rowcroft are certainly doing that with their new cycle challenge for 2018 and partners Halfords.
Local Halfords stores both here in Torquay and in Newton Abbot have announced the launch of a brand new partnership with Rowcroft Hospice.
Free Bike Checks at Halfords, Torquay
The partnership will see Halfords offer all participants in Rowcroft’s Ride for Rowcroft Fundraising event receive a free bike check and a whopping 10% off parts and servicing.
Rod Frost, Bike Hut Manager at Halfords Torquay has a personal connection with Rowcroft and commented:
My Brother-in-Law passed away 18 months ago at the Rowcroft Inpatient Unit. The care, compassion and empathy of the Rowcroft team was amazing. They made him feel as comfortable as possible and made him feel he was in a safe place. He passed away very peacefully. Events like Ride for Rowcroft are very important because all the funds raised go back into supporting people in our community
Ride for Rowcroft – The Challenge
Ride for Rowcroft has 2 different courses, one of which is a more challenging 32km up-hill course, also known as the Haytor Hill Climb.
The other is a flatter and more smoother ride for those who aren’t quite up to a hill climb just yet.
Ride for Rowcroft takes place on Sunday the 14th october 2018 and is back for a third year running.
In the past 2 years the event has helped raise more than £100,000 for the hospice and the organisers are hoping this year’s event will be the most successful yet.
