In response to growing primary numbers in Paignton, Roselands Primary School has taken on more pupils.

The school, which is part of the Riviera Education Trust, needed a new classroom to accommodate the additional children.

A fantastic new extension is now complete, providing office space, a new staff room and a new entrance and reception. Alterations to the existing staff room enabled the build of a new classroom.

Head Teacher, Chris O’Connor, said: “The new extension gives Roselands Primary School the ability to accommodate more pupils and meet the demands for more school places in Torbay. It also provides staff and children with an improved learning environment, which will help support better outcomes and attainment. TDA and Torbay Council have been instrumental in the success of this project and we are very grateful for their support.”

TDA managed the build and worked with partners, including Nevada Construction. TDA also provided architectural, quantity surveying, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering advice throughout the project.

Clare Talbot, Head of Education Services at TDA, said: “This is one of the latest projects that we have worked on to bring an additional 854 school places to Torbay since 2012.

“We are incredibly proud of the support we can provide local schools to improve school accommodation and the learning environment. It is great to see the new facilities at Roselands Primary School and we look forward to continue to work with the Riviera Education Trust on existing and future projects.”

TDA’s Education Team is commissioned by Torbay Council to ensure there are sufficient school places and to manage and deliver the Children’s Services Capital Programme.

TDA provides strategic advice and guidance to schools, multi academy trusts, early years providers and other education clients across the South West. Services include fund bid writing, procuring, managing and delivering capital projects, and asset management.
