Introducing the all new and tasty, Maltesers Buttons and Maltesers Truffle.

Maltesers, the little bites of lovely, have been consumed by Brits since 1937.

Very little in that time has changed, and as a result millions of packets of malt chocolate balls are sold yearly.

According to Mars, Maltesers owner, the brand is the UK’s third favourite chocolate brand.

55% of all adults bought Maltesers in 2017

Times a changing

So after over 80 years that is all about to change with a reinvented flat button.

An upmarket truffle edition will also go on sale from mid-July.

Initially rumours surrounding the new product were denied by Mars Wrigley in March 2018

The Maltesers Buttons will be available in a variety of options including a large share bag and a smaller bag of buttons.

The smaller bag will retail at 66p.

Rebecca Shepheard-Walyn, Maltesers brand director said:

We are extremely excited to be launching these new brand extensions to express different elements of Maltesers, one of the UK’s biggest heritage brands.

Maltesers Buttons will introduce the brand to younger consumers while Maltesers Truffles will grow the category through being perfect for those special gifting occasions.”

Maltesers Buttons will be available in a 32g bag for 66p, a 68g “treat bag” for £1.19, a 93g “pouch” for £2.09 and a 159g “more to share” bag for £3.29.

On the truffle frontier you can expect that familiar malt, topped with an all new truffle flavour.

The large gift box for the truffles will be available exclusively from Tesco’s this year.

So if you’ve not yet given a Malteser a try, we highly recommend giving them a whirl.
