The Torbay Apprenticeships Fair returns and will be held at the Riviera International Conference Centre on Wednesday 8th February from 2 to 7pm.

Taking place during National Apprenticeship Week 2023, the Fair provides a space for employers, training providers and anyone wanting to learn about the amazing opportunities through apprenticeships.

The free event showcases hundreds of apprenticeship opportunities from a wide range of sectors and is aimed at school and college learners, parents, and anyone considering an apprenticeship or looking to develop their skills.

Over 30 businesses from across Torbay are attending including MB Aerospace, Gooch & Housego, MW Benney Ltd, Jurassic Fibre, Torbay Council and many more.

There will be space in the room for employers to host informal interviews to fill vacancies on the day and careers support will be available for attendees, including advice on CVs and interview preparation.

Attendees are advised to bring along copies of their CV to the event and no advance booking is needed.

Councillor Swithin Long, Torbay Council Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Tourism and Housing, said: “We are delighted to be running the Torbay Apprenticeships Fair which will connect communities, employers and training providers and showcase hundreds of apprenticeship opportunities.

‘‘Apprenticeships offer a great way for people to learn new skills and gain real-world work experience while earning a wage. They can help people to start brand new careers or help career progression for existing employees who want to develop their expertise. I encourage anyone interested in apprenticeships to come along so that they can find out more and meet local employers in person.’’

Apprenticeships are available for all ages from 16+ and at multiple levels; from school leavers to people upskilling in their careers and those considering complete career changes.

The event is being delivered in partnership by TDA, South Devon College, Heart of the South West Careers Hub, Devon & Cornwall Training Provider Network, South West Apprenticeship Ambassador Network, Torbay Business Forum and the Department for Work and Pensions.
