Before the arrival of #DevonHour, and the dawn of #TorbayHour, a quiet chap sat down and registered #BoostTorbay with plans to make the towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham the place to come for business, tourism and shopping.

Ok, 3 years ago I sat down and registered BoostTorbay on twitter, we had quite a bold vision, a very bold statement was made on ourleaflets, twitter feed and everywhere else we popped up. Â The twitter account was registered and we told new people who followed us to simply put #BoostTorbay into their tweets and we would Re-Tweet (RT) them.
Then the snow ball effect happened more people began to use #BoostTorbay, we’ve promoted pictures of cake, seaside, products your selling, events, businesses and everything in between. Â We’ve helped people build business relationships and it is possible that maybe one or two have formed personal relationships.
Fast forward 3 year and what has changed? Â Well we’re still RT your tweets, we still reply to your tweets and we’ve got involved in community projects up and down Torbay. Â We have been frowned upon by some, and smiled upon by others. Â #BoostTorbay was started to help raise awareness of Torbay, we had major plans for our hash tag and have helped with the launch of a localised market, a localised discount card scheme and have even popped our logo on new park builds.
