Hello, I am a blogger, a mum, a wife, an entrepreneur, a training consultant and most of all I love helping people find delicious food they can eat.
Back in 2007 I started having huge problems with IBS symptoms. Over the coming years I visited my GP numerous times, was referred to various NHS departments, had a traumatic birth with my son and latterly have visited a private allergy specialist. The knowledge and answers I have gained have left me with a vague diagnosis of lactose intolerance, IBS and possible coeliac disease. I am currently dairy free, lactose free and gluten free which ensures my symptoms are kept to a minimum. There is always more to learn.
The positive side of my medical history has been my involvement with the freefrom industry. I have blogged, shared stories and information with many people via social media. In 2011 this led me to create Love Free From, a company selling allergy free chocolates and treats online. I loved helping people find delicious chocolates that they thought were forbidden treats due to allergies. Despite the fabulous support of my customers I ceased trading in 2014 due to lack of profitability and pressure from competition.
Last year was my first judging experience at the Free From Food Awards. This prestigious annual event champions all that is great in the freefrom food industry. I am currently looking forward to another years judging. While on the panel I met the wonderful Liz Allan of Allergy Aware Kitchen. Our shared interests and experiences helped spur a new position for me as a training consultant for her successful allergen awareness training company.
Today I delight in creating freefrom food that people can enjoy, draw inspiration from and build on. I relish engaging with people keen to learn more about the freefrom market and its people. I welcome questions and queries about freefrom food and how to enjoy life despite having dietary requirements.
