pt-love-your-art-rs-#1-FINAL-1As part of opportunities on offer through the Torbay Youth Cultural Partnership there is to be a ‘Love Your Art’ Festival on Saturday 14 February 2015 from 12.00 – 4.00pm.  It is to be held at the Windmill Centre on Pendennis Road, Torquay and at the Fort Apache Adventure Playground.  Please see attached flyer.

We are inviting artists, musicians, makers, crafts folk to bring along creative ideas in which children and young people can take part.  The challenge is to design a short, creative project (5 sessions x 4 hours) to take place outside on an adventure playground to create a lasting legacy.  At the ‘Love Your Art’ Festival artists will be able to explain to young people what their project is and how they will be involved.  There will then be a secret ballot where young people will be able to vote for their favourite creative idea.

Three successful artists will then be offered £500 to run their creative projects during February and March.

This is an innovative approach to encourage new audiences to be involved in creative ideas.

It is the first arts festival in Hele.  We are also inviting FUNk, Play Torbay’s young film group with Kate Green to make a film showing all the different creative opportunities on offer – which will then be available on the Youth Cultural Partnership website.

Ideas so far include mosaic making, metal work, willow work, junk musical instrument making, environmental art.

Please note we would like to offer young people a wide range of different creative activities.  We are hoping to include as many artists and makers as possible.

If you are interested in taking part please complete the application form attached and return to the Play Torbay office by Friday 30th January midday.  We will confirm successful applications by Friday 6th February.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to give us a call on 01803 850157
