THE Ageing Well Festival in Torbay is back this year and the organisers are planning on it being bigger and better than ever.
Sadly, the last two festivals had to be broadcast online and Riviera FM as COVID made bringing people together impossible, but this year it will be held at the Riviera Centre in Torquay.
The Riviera centre was also the venue for the last face-to-face festival in October 2019 when more than 1,700 people from across the Bay were in attendance.
This year’s festival, the final one to be funded by the now finished lottery funded Ageing Well Torbay programme, is a celebration of the eight festivals that have been organised in the Bay, celebrating the very best of local talent.
As usual, the festival, on Saturday, September 17th, will bring together a mix of talks, dance, exercise, sports, music, comedy, workshops, and information. And this year, everyone is welcome regardless of age.
“We have been very fortunate that the National Lottery’s Community Fund recognised the need for Ageing Well Torbay to go out with a bang,” said chair of the organising committee, Jess Slade.
“We aim to bring together the very best of our past festivals, showcasing the cream of the Bay’s talent for one last hooray, and we are very excited to be doing so once again at the Riviera Centre.”
“We have learned lessons from the last time we were there, and we will be looking at making it even more accessible to everyone in the Bay, no matter how they choose to travel.”
